I made my first trip to the Dutch-IndIan heritage in 1989. It brought me to Chinsurah on the Hoogly River near Calcutta. Mr. Nandi and his Indian-Dutch Friendship Society and antiquarian books helped me to find my way.
Two VOC (Dutch East-Indian Company) canons welcomed me at the steps of the madrassa school in Chinsurah. The VOC code of arms in the canons are fading away.
This was the madrassa in 1989.
And this is how the madrassa and the canons looked in February 2020.
